You don’t need actors to produce great training materials – anyone who does an excellent job can show others how it’s done. In Peter at Work, Unreal Films created a documentary around supermarket worker Peter Stevens. The film was commissioned by Works4Us, an employment advocacy service for people with learning disabilities.
By showing Peter at work, doing his work effectively and enjoying it, the film adopted a ‘show, don’t tell’ approach to the message. This technique has been the backbone of Unreal Films’ successes with the disabled community, as well as with a wide range of other outreach documentaries and election training films.
